    1. Students will use their prompt and directions to outline and write a rough draft of characteristics of romanticism in "The Devil and Tom Walker"
    2. Students may use their "Devil and Tom Walker" stories and all of their Cornell Notes to write the essay.
    3. Teacher will collect all outlines and rough drafts at the end of the hour.
  3. Resistance to Civil Government by Thoreau 50 min
    1. Teacher will review literary focus and directions with students.
    2. Teacher may call on students to read, pausing as needed by page for students to annotate texts in the margins as directed.
    3. Teacher, please note where each class left off and collect readings/annotations before students leave.
